Members Locations - Mapped
What do members think about their approx locations being displayed on Map of the country or world , which could be "zoomed" into in a similar fashion to Google Earth or some of the maps that the websites of Banks and Stores use in order that you can see the nearest one to where you are located.
I've had a few conversations with members on this matter and there seems to be agreement that it would be a very handy facility if it could technically be linked to the Club site or forum are (once members are signed in). It would assist in strenghtening the network of members both on a local, national and international basis). There may/are Data protection issues, however, all members when becoming a Member were given the option to state their location which appears under their name/forum 'handle', and it is this location that could form the basis of placing members locations on a map. I would certainly recommend that any such mapping facility would only be visible via a link on the site once a member is signed in. Any members with a technical or programming background may be able to give recommendations or comments on this Member Mapping suggestion. |

Excellent, would be brilliant if there was a quick link on the forum toolbar to the facility?????!!!!!!
I'd feel more confident about taking the 75 on a run across Europe in the knowledge that there would be members dotted all over the place in the event of the unthinkable. |

Is it only me, or do other members find it irritating that many people dont put their [approx] address and car model on mails? Every time there is a can you help message, it gets the question "what model or where are you"?
It would be nice to know how many members are in your area if only for some help when a problem. All you anonymous members out there update your personal profiles!! Dave
