Sony headunit
Hello All,
I want to fit a Sony Headunit in place of my Symphony unit. I contacted Rimmer Brothers today who say it appears they can order part FJV000670PUY Finisher-facia console radio - iovox And they have in stock part nos: FJV001110PMA The surround & housing. The radio I am aiming to fit is a Sony CDX-GT300S Do you think it'll fit in either of those setups? Cheers, Michael T

Well,
I got my carriage.. and now I've fitted my head unit. Now all I need is the lead to make the steering controls work.. and well I'm all set! Looks good - although the camera flash doesn't do it justice... it had just stopped raining. I have enlarged one of the holes on the top of the small pocket to allow my iPod connection to sit nicely in that pocket without rattling. Do you think the CD changer (Alpine QXE 105560) would work with this head unit? Cheers, Michael T

Have to say that looks good. I have been meaning to order a new faceplate for mine since I broke one of the clips on it as it now doesn't fit flush. Your facia looks much better than either the connects 2 or autoleads versions. Of the two order numbers from rimmers in your original post which one is it please as I may order one the same. P.s I have just fitted a connects 2 to pioneer steering interface. My car has the iso wiring loom and was originally fitted with a Kenwood radio which was controlled by infra red with the l.e.d being housed in the lip above the stereo. In my case I removed that and followed the wiring back to a black box which was sealed. On the other side of the black box was the wiring from the wheel which I snipped and joined to my connects 2 interface. There was three wires of which only two were used, the other I taped up so it couldn't short onto anything. I can't remember which colours although I only done it a short while ago but I mentioned them in my previous post if you want to check. Remember that I done that for the infra red controls not sure if that is the same for hard wired contols. Hope that may help. Regards, Coolcat. |

A Rover ISO adapter lead will fit without alteration, the cables for the steering control for the Symphony are already in the ISO plug, with the adapter lead it's plug and play.
