Default broke it

oh dear my 75 v6 is upset with me. Used her most of yesterday and parked her up last night at 9 pm. come to start her this morning and she says no. turns over fires up and dies every time. AA on route

Default vis unit

from what AA says its the vis unit that's at fault. So now its just been taken to Cable Street for Kieth and Barnie autos to sort out

Absolutely no way a failed vis motor will stop the car from running!! Do not let them stick you for a bill for changing either of them.

As mentioned even if the VIS isnt working it will run, just albeit be lethargic!

I think unless it is an emergency situation, no member here should touch the phone for help UNTIL they have posted here and got some proper ideas of what the cause might be. Faulty VIS would not affect starting - as said.

Thank you so much guys for the pointer. Could it be the fuel pump has come apart in the tank. That little orange clip that holds it together. Fingers crossed its just that

The AA should have checked fuel pressure at the Schraeder valve between throttle body and inlet manifold. Could be filter or maybe even pump. My Dad’s pump was changed recently and the filter element too. The garage said the fuel filter looked more like an oil filter it was so black. I believe the filters are supposed to be good for the life of the car, but I guess most of our cars are heading for a second innings now?
