Disillusioned
Hi Guys
I will shortly be advertising a number of spares for sale at low prices, i have owned Rover 75's for the last 9 years and have had some great help and advice on this forum, however late last year i was conned out of £110 by a member on here who never sent the goods i paid him for. The lack of help from the moderators in helping me to try and get my money back has left me so disillusioned that i have sold my Rover 75 and so i no longer need the spares i had built up over the years. I'll be advertising them in the members spares for sale over the next few days, all i really want to cover is the cost of postage so keep a lookout for the advert |

How did you pay the money you didn't receive the goods for?

Have you tried speaking to the bank? I'm not sure if bank transfers are covered by any protection for consumers, but it might be worth asking.

I have spoken to the bank they were as much use as a chocolate teapot, basically because i transferred the money it's down to me, paying by bank transfer does not give the same protection as paying by credit card

Hi, shame..I would advise folk to use escrow it can't fail. You will only be protected with a credit card if the money goes direct to the seller, if it goes via a 3rd party processor you will not be protected automatically. If it's bank to bank then the banks won't entertain you as you made the transaction.
If it's a cross border claim there is European Small Claims 25 euros. UK small claims cost £25 for claims under £300 Northern Ireland cost is £30 Info Here I assume the costs will be added and possible interest like s69 here 8% per day. I would go for it out of principle, hope this helps a bit. Last edited by rustymotor; 4th March 2018 at 08:41.. |

I would certainly use the small claims court but no-one will give me his address, he has been suspended not banned.
