Here I Go (Again)
75 number 2 is now here. A V reg Cowley V6 Club Auto in silver. 44,000 on the clock. Very little servicing apart from annual oil changes since 2011 at 39,000 miles. A couple of minor marks on the body but seems to drive perfectly. More spec than I thought (for a Club version) with cruise cotrol and CD changer in the glove box (haven't tried it yet!). Once the weather improves I will get underneath but it has only been shuffled in and out of the (heated) garage since the last MOT in August ( Advisory for tyre and ball joint + slight corrosion to rear exhaust box). Pics to follow when the weather improves.

The car that I have bought, belonged to a lovely old gentleman who lived at the end of my road. It's the car that made me want a 75 in the first place. I was walking my dog one day and he was washing the car and showed me all the "lovely things" that his car had. I was smitten and took my 75 to him to see, when I bought it. He was very interested at the differences between my 05 and his V reg. I will do my best, to do him proud.

Had a good day today (nice and sunny) so got to grips with a heavy clean, followed by a "put the airbag light out" routine known to many of us! The more that I look, the more goodies I find. Crofts door finishers, cruise control and a cd player (not working yet) in the glove box. It appears to be dead but probably because it hasn't been used. I found the front slide and the button to eject the CD cassette but the button does nothing and I can't see anything light up??? Any help greatly appreciated.

Finally sorted out the CD by using the wonderful "search" facility. 4 nuts off to take it out of the glove box, unclip the cable connector and removed from car. Carefully removed the front trim, followed by the screws on the top. Some more careful levering of the top cover and the "gubbins" was revealed. Everything was gummed up with old, white grease, so a bit of cleaning with a cotton bud and a re-lube with watchmakers oil and fresh, white grease, followed by a push on the gearwheels had it all moving again. With a bit of experimentation, I sussed out how it all worked and popped it back to the wires for a test. It worked immediately, so refilled the six pack with CD's of my choice and all put back together. Wonderful!

Waiting for a nice, sunny day, so it may be a while. Sorted lots of the niggles now.
Air bag light, sticking bonnet pull (lubed and modded), ABS light/sensor, cd changer solid, blocked drain holes, spy hole mod done, old oil changed, fobs renewed and working, full valet inside (needed it too!). Onwards and upwards!

Spy hole and Jules guard fitted. Just found another added extra. Rust around the front sill jacking points! Doh. Some welding needed methinks! Luckily not too bad and easily repairable.
