I think I'd chance the good secondhand ones, there's four and you could get another fault after you splash out £300 for two. Is it a hard job to rerfurb them? Someone is making a tidy sum from them...

You need injectors that are in good health. If the SH ones are ok Id buy them.

If you can afford it, go for the new ones, of not it will have to be the secondhand ones.

There are benefits and drawbacks to each.

If you can afford to have the car off the road for a couple of days, have your current ones refurbished and balanced, they'll be good as new and probably about the same price as the second hand ones.

Second hand ones are great and I totally understand that these are expensive parts, but even a tiny bit of grit can destroy an injector and is easily picked up if they haven't been properly stored.

Default injectors

You can post your 4 off to Lynx diesels and have them rebuilt and balanced
for around £300 but, if the used ones are guaranteed Ok then that is not a bad offer.

Thanks for the advice guy's. I ended up getting 2 from Seancar for a very nice price. He tested the car they came off on a T4 and no errors were reported. Hopefully they should do the trick. Burscough diesels are fitting them for me for £55.00 Ill report back the results.

Technical question, not for guessers. What actually causes "leak back"?
When i had my Montego diesel,i took the injectors out in the morning at work, and took them round to a workshop that dealt with Bosch. I had made enquiries about having them calibrated and it was going to cost£20 for the four. The reason i took them was a smoky exhaust.Collected them after work and fitted them in the works garage. I was told that none had been leaking but the spray pattern was all over the place. Result no more smoking from the exhaust. Never did ask what "leaking " was caused by.Weak springs? Anyone know?.

I already had four second hand ones when my injector played up, but when push came to shove, I decided not to chance it, and bought a new Bosch one..

You have to ask yourself.... Is it worth the risk ------?
