Air Bag Light - Again
Hi,
2004 Rover 75 Tourer CDTi My air bag light keep coming on, sometimes it's off for about 10kms and then it illuminates. Is there a deffinative fix? I've read about: - unplugging/plugging the sockets - done that - cleaning the connections with contact cleaner - done that - Read about re-routing the sensor wires - not done that yet but can't find a 'map' of where to route them - Read some people cut and solder/hard wire them - don't want to do that. Also which colour sockets are the airbag? If the airbag light is on does this mean the airbags won't work? I realise this is a dumb question but the sensors work by continually passing a small current, I assume, if air bag activation is required a larger current is sent which could pass the point of higher resistance. I need this fixed as it's MOT time soon.

I had loads of problems with mine,
Only very recently sorted it, basically, I replaced the plugs with replacement ones and chopped out some badly twisted wiring and put fresh in. And I have a few more grey hairs coupled with a bald patch!

In my experience electrical contact cleaner seems to work for a year or two. I do mine before every MOT as it usually happens when the seat is moved (short a** mechanic maybe)?

£3.95 for 10, I'll buy them.
Thanks to all. Let's see if they fix the problem.
