HI Mick/Jay.
Do let us know the out come of the T4 diagnosis to see if it actually points to the fault, if the plenums have not been checked since the summer expect a wet ECU or even a swimming one, good luck guys.

The OP says starting problems but it's OK when running.

A swimming ECU would cause problems all round wouldn't it ??

I go for a leak back test as in an earlier post.---

Hi Steve,
I visited Jay today, I knew him anyway from his workplace at a well known car parts supplier lol when I plugged T4 in it communicated with the ECM ok and shows 93kpa on the low side, so even though the pump was buzzing the pressure into my test bottle was very low, so I suspect the UBP is goosed, as he believes it’s original at 186 thousand miles, obviously rail pressure is zero, as I was time limited due to taking my daughter to the cinema, I’m going to go back later in the week and fit a new pump as I’d like to see around 361kpa, when I looked at the plenum chamber it appeared dry

Hi Steve,
No problem, I always like to report back, as it helps our other members in future if they suffer from similar symptoms, and don’t have this type of equipment
One other point of note was that when I looked at ECM overview
screen, obviously because I wanted to check the capacitors I noticed both were at 0.8V with the engine off, this looks correct to me as it was a manual car, I know the autos have a higher value, so it appears that the ECM is okay,
Mick

Just thought while I had time I would post back on this, as it may be beneficial to other members Jay’s car is now running fine after having a bit of a play about with the under bonnet pump and then identifying one particular injector that had major leak back issues, I supplied Jay with a new injector, he fitted it and the car is running like a dream
Happy days another fixed
Mick
