Starter problems
Hi people
I'm having random starter problems with my 1.8T It occasionally refuses to start but battery is ok. Turn the key and the dash lights up nice and bright but no starter turning. Last time it did this I continued to try switching on and off and after six or seven goes it engaged. It's on 98000 miles, do you think it's starter, solenoid or bad earth? Chris

Clean the spade connector to your starter motor before you look at the starter motor itself- its a common issue for 1.8t non starting.

I had this problem over Christmas, the connection to the starter motor had come loose.

Just to confirm that the problem was the small spade terminal on the starter motor. Cleaned it up and problem solved.
Many thanks for all suggestions. Chris
