[QUOTE=Blink;2779365]Good idea Steve - especially the moulded washers. I see you've used flat sheet for some washers and some bits cut from another heatshield for others. I don't have either of those so I'll have to buy something. What thickness flat sheet did you use?
Hi Simon. The alloy I used was some that I found in the shed, i think it came off an old washing machine? it was about 2mm thick being that thickness you can form it to fit.

Plan B.
Turns out the rear heatshield also has the electro-thingy so I've bought a new one (£18.26 ex vat yesterday in the 17% sale). Now I can chop the old one up and make some moulded washers for the front one (as per Arctic's 2nd pic in post 7). |

The long clamping strips can be tricky to shape but they work quite well. Btw, it turns out these heatshields were made by a Swiss manufacturer (Rieter / Sevex). |

** (lip, downward bend, short horizontal, upward bend, long horizontal, downward bend, short horizontal, upward bend, lip - that gives one clamping strip). |

This is quite possibly the nastiest and most bitter post I have read on this forum. My reading of the post, I read the 'k' to refer to the word 'kiddie' and as such I see a serious accusation being made on a public forum. If such an accusation is true, then I suggest you present your evidence for making such an accusation to your local law enforcement - dont worry if it is in a different district to the accused, they will ensure the appropriate action is taken. If you do not have said evidence, I would suggest a discussion with your brief, particularly on the topic of defamation of character. Also, with consideration of your recent absence, IF you are currently serving a parole term or any suspended sentence, what ramifications this could have to the terms and conditions of it.

I just wonder if any moderators are looking in on here at all sometimes, I know they have a life apart from this forum, but if even if you have volunteered to do such a job please look in at least once per day.
What is going on to allow another member talk / type such insults as above and insult another mans wife, it is just not on at all.

Well, that has to be one of the nastiest comments I've ever seen, all from an exhaust heat shield query too.
Ross, I'm going to close this thread before you make anymore derogatory remarks.
