Water leak
Most frustrating! After having a new radiator and reconditioned head fitted on my 1.8 turbo the car's still loosing a little water. What's the most likely culprit: inlet manifold gasket....water pump.....water cooled turbo gasket ???? Apart from the water loss the car's running well. Any suggestions?

Impossible to know for certain without a pressure test.

When i have had water loss - to pinpoint the leak i have asked my garage to put her on a ramp and start her up - on both occasions the leak was evident in the case of a loose turbo hose (the small hose) within 15 minutes - the 2nd one was the IMG and it took nearly an hour until the leak could be seen. I think this is the best way to exclude/identify external leaks.

It is in fact a faulty head gasket! The mechanic who fitted a reconditioned head used a standard gasket not the updated one!

The choice of which head gasket to use depends on the condition of the liner heights. See guidance on this page.
