Hmmm, fitted a ronbox yesterday, and this happened to me on the way back from the gym.. floored it, then felt the engine cut out

No worries after a bump start. I figured I'd set the box up incorrectly, but reading this I guess it has amplified my leak back issues. I could certainly hear an injector ticking louder than usual, which I believe is another indicator.

Easy start has been my saviour recently whilst I squirrel away the pennies to get the injectors refurbed.

Dam, I borrowed a cam sensor and no luck with the starting.
Had to use easy start, so i guess its going to be an expensive job with the injectors

I always start these things by saying “I’m no expert, but…” I had endless problems starting mine, but with me it was more when cold than hot. Everybody went on and on and ON about injector leakback, and some stopped talking to me when I kept discussing it but hadn't done the leakback test.

I knew it wasn't that, as it was too intermittent.

It turned out to be two separate problems with mine – a main relay behind the glove box somewhere, and a wet ECM (computer).

The latter sits in a pool of water – sorry, plenum chamber which may flood under the n/s windscreen. Well worth checking, as a wet ECM can mimic all sorts of other problems.

But that P1260 sounds like the fuel pressure monitor is worth a look?

Apparently most of these machines bring up diags for the glow plugs, but they aren’t even needed in our climate – especially when hot

I have now gotten two injectors but havent had the time to get them fitted
Anyway as i was only getting a few attempts at starting the car before the batterry died, i decided to replace the battery so it would be okay for over the winter and ive now found that the car starts with no hesitation when cold, warm and very hot ???
Perhaps others out there having problems with hot starts can put the battery onto the check list
Btw the voltage on the old battery was reading 12.5v
