Liberton Brae (the main route to the bypass) is also closed. Traffic can't get up the hill. And our bins have not been emptied today!

We've just had an hour of heavy snow, which is now being blown around into drifts by a strong Easterly wind.
However, not wanting to let my mate down, who is 60 today, we're off out into the country for a pub meal - complete, with warm blanket, snow shovel etc. in the boot. Time to test my 4x4 capabilities - mate has a giant Isuzu D Max Utah - 160bhp and 360nm torque - should be able to pull me out of a snowdrift OK

Been a brief gap in snow showers so got the snow shovel out and cleared the path a bit. My father bought the snow shovel years ago, still had the plastic bag on the blade! Snow about 4" to 6" or 7" deep depending on drifting. May have been a pointless exercise, started snowing again.

I'm sure we could spend the night in the Bay Horse's bar if it was ABSOLUTELY necessary Jeff
