Although initially I know the brake setting was unchecked... can't help thinking somethings not quite working right in the settings menu... but forcing it on then off has probably sorted it?? Not 100% sure but I thought that when I checked the brake setting (red tick mark rather than greyed out...), when I shut down unit then started up again I think the setting was greyed out again as if the h/u was remembering the setting??? (certainly the visual indictor tick mark anyway...). Anyway to cut to the chase it seems to work fine now (also TV...). Looking forward to setting up headrest monitor!!

Here you go John,

First go into the settings menu, then press this.

Go to this and check whether ticked or un ticked

It means handbrake off video disabled but is worded badly.
The idea is that with the handbrake off you can't watch video sources but then they give you a button to override the function for some strange reason

What I did notice while I was looking through the manual... under device settings there are 2 sections which don't appear on the h/u settings menu - "Car settings" & "Confidential settings"? So I suppose these are not available on our h/u? Was wondering about code protection for the h/u??

Just a quick update... not wanting to jinx anything... but iGO rock solid now and voice instructions etc at a decent volume (I use a 3rd party tts voice.. svox classic & Victoria voice ... cost about a pound or two? - less robotic than standard iGO voice... ). Now that its working properly, I'm quite pleased with the programme & postcodes seem to work well now...

Gee - I really have to watch what/how I say stuff on this forum!!! you really are a twisted lot!
By the way, a side issue... Jeff's Hertz speaker set work really well... little tip - the crossover fits snugly in the spare cavity in the speaker surround (made for it... I wonder if Hertz designed it for that purpose??? that's spooky!?!)
