Hi Andy,

You don't have to be sorry! Far from that. You have been a tremendous help and narrowed down the cause of my "problem".

It seems the amount of versions and variations of the iGO software is endless and the units seem to be shipped with a lot of different versions.

I hope someone/Sean/Jeff will come by and shed some light.

PS. I can supply a branding file with MG start-up logo's if you're interested

I am starting to loose faith in my computer skills.

Could anyone please explain what is going on? (Sean/Jeff to the rescue???)
Sorry boss,

Software isn't my area of expertise and I never really play with this stuff .
I'm a hardware kind of guy

I believe Cdti, Tony_Fry, SuperVinnie and Spook are more knowledgeable on this stuff than me so may be able to assist further

Woohoo! I am promoted to Boss

No probs if you are more into the hardware than the software.

We'll see if one of the gurus is able to shed some light on this issue. Vinnie has been of great help already. I hope the others will drop by to share their infinite knowledge with an Android noob like me

I had another play myself today, and I see why you are stomped... I downloaded some stuff from several websites to try out and play with. But I can't get anything to show up on the skin selections.
Funny thing, when I deleted ALL the skins in the folder, I still had the default skin on selection...

So I'm starting to think the skin selector has been removed or something...

Hi Vinnie,

Or... something has been added. If I look at the folders I see a ui_android folder containing the graphics for the interface. But such files are also included in the data.zip file that's in the root of the folder structure.

Maybe there is an ini-file one can edit to enable/disable the feature of using skins?

I'm downloading Ajd1's uploaded folder now. I'll see if I have some spare time to look through the files. There has to be something we're overlooking...

Hi Vinnie,

I am sure we are overlooking something. If I only knew what that little something was

Let´s see what your experiences are with the files from Andy. We´ll go from there...

Try the following:

Copy sys.txt to a removable drive. Open the file on a computer (in notepad for example). Go down a bit just above [keyboard] (line 276 on mine). You'll see skin="ui_android".
Replace ui_android with skin.

Or, un pack a skin and replace the one in the ui_android folder with whatever is inside the zip files of that skin.

I'm gonna have a bit of a play with it. See what works.

Well... I tried changing ui_android to content/skin, and got an error: user interface resolution [800x450] is not supported or compatible skin can not be found.
Exiting application.

So this didn't work.

Then I replaced ui_android with content/scheme, but got the same error.
Then I made a new folder "new_skin" and unzipped one of the skins into it. Then replaced ui_android with new_skin/ui_android.
Voila, I had a new skin.

So it turns out you have to try out every skin to see how it looks. Just make sure it 800x600 compatible.

I also tried to remove the entry in sys.txt, hoping that it would go back to default content/skin, making it possible to choose a few different ones. But that didn't work .
