Just had my new genuine MGR lower mount fitted today whilst getting 2 new tyres fitted and what a difference. Having the auto box I have been noticing for a while that when putting in R or D there was some play. Now it is as I remember when I bought the car over 8 years ago
Looking at the mount you cant see any problem.

I fitted a powerflex to mine by 'mistake' to cure a heavy vibration through the bulkhead under load , which turned out to be caused by the o/s lower arm rear mount. Once replaced the car was better but still had a slight vibration , so i ended up replacing the lower mount again with a genuine item and the vibration was gone, so that was a waste of money fitting a non manufacturer part.
They say that the manufacturer knows best which is correct ( apart from handbrake compensators and fan resistors in our case!) |

"wide" posts
Hi Arctic,
I wonder if any body else has noticed that some of your posts seem to be too wide, as they do not fit the screen on my Laptop. On a different note this is a very interesting thread and I wonder if it will come to a final conclusion with all the different opinions. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Pete.

Hi
I have just removed my lower engine mounting and it is U/S. Rimmers still do not have the O/E in stock,do we know of any other suppliers. Also what is the latest feedback on the Power flex unit? is it an option to fit this. By the way it will be fitted to a 2003 diesel auto 75. Thanks John. |
