Had a ride out, nice surprise

Not often I have the time nowadays and even less often wife and I are off together so we had a ride out to Whitby, nice fish and chip lunch on the harbour front. Back over the Yorkshire moors and bumped into this. Not planned but what a privilege to see in the flesh.

I have seen it in the flesh myself,many years ago,when I was a kid it came to our local railway station,magnificent machine.

It broke down yesterday morning, vacuum brake problem. I think it was delayed for about an hour but two DMU services were cancelled because of it.
