Some frying steak fillets for tea with garlic mushrooms, new spuds,carrots/swede mash & Pak Choi I grew from seed, it's very nice stir fried with soy sauce & ginger paste

Speaking of Ginger! I ordered some ginger seeds from China & planted them in early March but Ginger they ain't The seedlings that sprouted looked like runner beans!!!!

Evening Andy, I got the shampooer out of the garage last week to clean our carpet & have just about got the shampoo ratio sorted out, You don't need much of the concentrated shampoo in the tank, I was putting waaaaay too much of it in

The colour of the water it sucked up was embarrassingly dirty Smells a whole lot better too.
Second bottle of Henry's Cider for me with some pain killers, Mowing the lawn has killed me today for some reason!.

The more shampoo you use the quicker your carpet will soil again. As a professional carpet cleaner,I learnt this when I did my training. You are leaving your carpet in an alkaline state, which basically acts like a magnet to dirt. Obviously you are both too far away for me to do a professional clean on your carpets but the way we do it is dry vac the carpet with a commercial vacuum cleaner, then spray it with the cleaning solution which is alkaline based, this means it has ph of between 8 and 14, then the solution is agitated into the carpet and left for 10-15minutes to dwell. This means to allow the solution to loosen the dirt, then the carpet is rinsed with an acidic based solution (Ph 1-6) to neutralise it and the dirty water is extracted.. By this time the carpet is left almost ph neutral. If you are just using home carpet cleaners, after you extract the dirty water, go over it again with just clean hot water to rinse the shampoo out. You wouldn’t wash the car with soapy water then leave it to dry or dry it off without rinsing would you? Same applies to your carpet. To make the carpet stay clean longer you could apply a carpet protector, you can get it from any janitorial or cleaning supplier. All you need is a garden pump up sprayer, but it must be spotless in the tank, the bottle will tell you how to apply it. The protector won’t stop the carpet getting dirty or stained, but it forms an invisible barrier on top of the pile, so any dirt or staining doesn’t penetrate deep into the fibre and will be easier to clean next time.

Same weather here with a completely blue sky and brilliant, bright sunshine.

And frost on the grass and you can see your own breath. Brrrrrr.

Hopefully it will be a nice sunny afternoon

Sounds like something The Kinks might have sung

That sounds awfully complicated to me mate - what's wrong with my method?
- wait 'til the grime is visible on top of the pile of the carpet
- run a smooth file around the blade of a FLAT garden shovel
- give shovel to wife, with a stiff brush too
- get her to scrape the muck off the carpet and sprinkle it around yer roses - excellent compost
