printer spooler error
this is driving me nuts!! and just when I needed to print 'how tos' from the forum! I've tried all obvious solutions manually switching the spooler back on switching the printer on and off reinstalling the software ....oh and yes i have tried switching it on and off again!! all that happens is on start up the printer spits out pages that i couldn't print before I'm even logged in and then stops half way through with another spooler error. I can't even seem to clear the memory of these old documents what a waste of paper. printer is a HP1020 laserjet and the comp is on vista 32bit (well yes I know as my step daughter says 'should have bought a mac' but such an extravagance)

There's a quick way I use to stop and restart the spooler. Works every time!
Click Start, Run and in the box type "cmd" (without the quotes) and press enter. This will bring up a black command window. In it type the following : NET STOP SPOOLER and press enter. This stops the spooler service. Then type : NET START SPOOLER and press enter to restart the spooler service. Your printer should now work fine Once you've done this, type EXIT to close the window.
