Remote headlight adjustment
One of my headlight units has stopped responding to the internal remote adjuster
Does anybody know, please, if it is fixable other than replacing the whole headlight unit? Thanks |

Often the wiring can get chaffed by rubbing on the bodywork inside the engine compartment. Get a good torch and poke around the area of the lights you may need to remove the front bumper to gain access to all the wiring loom but you might just be able to catch a glimpse of the loom from above.
Another way to view it is from below. Jack the car up and put it on axle stands. Underneath each front corner of the bumper are two quarter-panels that can be removed to give you a view up into the bumper/headlight region. Again, shine a torch inside there to see if you can follow the wiring loom. The aim of this is to determine if any of the wiring has chaffed/broken by rubbing on any bodywork etc. If this has happened you can just patch up the wiring and job's a good 'un. If no wiring is chaffed then the motor in the headlight may well have failed. If this has happened then it'll be new headlamp I'm afraid. |
