water in boot
washed my car today and theres a bit of water not a lot but enough anyone now where its engrassing lol ( big words )

Ah, the optional spare wheel well jacuzzi! There are a number of possibilities, rear light seals, side trim securing nuts, rear window clips, boot vents. The usual is the rear light seals, as part of the manufacturing process they have a split in them that was glued, the glue gives up over time.

the water is just under the light not in the wheel well so is it a case of silcon sealer?

If you hadn't spotted it believe me it would be in the wheel well! Not uncommon to have 1 or 2 inches sloshing around in there before it is discovered.

Nah
Its like soft top cars - they don't usually leak until u blast water into tight gaps (jet wash) or just flood it with water (bucket water). Nothing is water tight, esp over time when exposed to the elements. I think my car most weakest for boot leak will be the rear lights or the side ventilation flaps.... Think SteveStrat (above posting) listed all the possibilities already |
