Front passenger door
I'm sure there's a how to or similar, but I can never find anything on the search function.
Went out to do the shopping this morning, all was fine, came back out to the car, loaded it all into the boot, put the kids in the car, wife took the trolley back while I sat in the car. When she tried getting in the door was still locked, she thought I was messing around locking her out, as I occasionally do… I pressed the button on the key again and nothing happened, pressed the unlock button by the handbrake and nothing happened, so had to lean over and use the interior handle and it opened. Tried it a few ways, it will lock with the fob, but not unlock, and it wont lock or unlock with interior button, can't remember if speed locking worked on it? Is this likely to be in need of a replacement door lock, or as it locks off the fob will it be something else? Thanks. |

Hmm - exactly the same thing has just happened to one of my 75s. Fingers crossed that there's a simple and low-cost solution ...

mine zt has the same issue... exaccly the as you guys...
the solution is to buy another lock mechanism or try to fix the plastic spins on that one... however i think thats better to buy another... strip card door and change it... there is how to here in the fórum... here in Portugal i find second hand ones for something like 40 euros... not expensive but my afraid is to broke all the plastic pins in the door card. |

Snap!
Same problem - same door. I've bought a s/h unit off ebay - now got to get the door card off without breaking anything and change it. |

Had the same thing with my last 75 on rear NS door. Would lock every time but would only unlock when the inside handle was pulled. I replaces the lock, no change, tried the old lock on another door by just plugging the connector in and it worked, Checked the connections in the plug and they seemed okay as was the wiring in the pillar. The next step was to check the wiring back from the door but I ended up selling her before I found it. Good luck. |

Thanks for the replies, seems quite a common problem. Just been out for the morning and it doesn't lock with the speed locking either, so will only lock on the fob and unlock on the interior handle.
I think I'll try a 2nd hand lock and hope that sorts it. |

Could be the popper has popped out of the mechanism, more likely the little white clip on the threaded bar.

All fixed now, fitted a replacement lock and it's all working again. Was a bit awkward to get your hands inside the door to do everything without being able to see what you're doing, but only too about an hour!
