Default WHAAA WHAAA sound from N/S rear?

I only noticed it after filling the diesel tank right to the top. When I got the car it had an 1/8 of a tank and I never noticed it. It's there from low speed up to about 28mph. Car has just been in for an MOT with nothing wrong in that area. Tyre pressures are good.

Could it be exhaust sound bounce back off the road???

Maybe related to the extra weight of the full tank. If so, I'd suggest a rear wheel bearing may be complaining. Budget tyres also tend to be noisier when part worn. Worth checking brand/type/tread depths.

I had exactly that sound on my Vectra.....sorry...... It was the rear tyres. Went when I replaced them.

It is a budget tyre on that wheel!
"Auto-something" or other.
Got too much tread on it to sling it will just have to put up with it for now.
Thanks guys!

Had it on a jack and spun it. Sounds like handbrake drum and shoes catching. Not going to go looking for trouble will just apply the handbrake a few times while slowing down to round it up.With it being handbrake only and not used while on the move I should imagine they never wear out?????

Correct, no wear on brake shoe linings but normal for rust to accumulate, recommended to apply handbrake when almost to a stop (last few yards) to clear and lessen build-up, often when stripped for maintenance/repairs loose rust will be seen in drum, several earlier threads mention this.

I've had all 3 - rear brakes catching slightly (ZS180), rear bearing (ZS Diesel) and tyres (several now).
Can be a nightmare to track down, but tyre is easy to swap from front-to-back for diagnostics.
