Cool KV6 Gearbox Oil

Hi peeps i had a look around the how to bit but couldnt find any how to on emptying and refilling manual gearbox on a KV6 engine ..I have ordered 2ltrs of MFT-94 i believe its called ,just wanted to have a look where drain plug is and filler plug ? im sure its obviouse but i like to prep well

I don't have a photo , but the two plugs are on the end of the gearbox behind the n/s front wheel . The filler plug is known to sometimes be very tight , so make sure you can undo it before you drain the oil !

That looks very familiar
There is a how-to here for the 1.8

I think they are effectively the same . This thread quotes a torx socket to undo the plugs , and I think I have also heard of an allen-key socket being used on some , but can't swear to it you'll need to check or have both available .

Thanks for that, but it mentions a T50 torx bit for both plugs which i dont have

Undo the filler plug first, then the drain.
If you drain it then can't get the filler one out, you are stuffed

I don't know I got Jules to do mine, when he was doing the recent cambelt change on my car!

He gave me the hot tip on the plugs too.

Can someone look in there haynes manual to see what tools i need please to remove drain and filler plugs thank you(gearbox kv6 engine)

I have just checked in Haynes and there is not mention of the type and size.
