Default Punctured tyres.

I have had three punctured tyres on the ZT since October all non repairable. Apart from the cost its bl--dy inconvenient! Chris.S.

Also tyre company and type (size) if the memory cells are up to it. Did the tyres have cuts and if not did you use the hair mouse?

The "hair mouse" or shaving foam as I call it is useless unless its something as simple as a nail/screw in the treaded area. When I bought the 260 it didn't have a spare, they only ever came with the tin of puncture repair stuff as there's nowhere to put a spare wheel but most owners sacrifice the boot space to carry one. I hadn't got round to getting one yet. Coming up the M74 late at night I hit something, no idea what, limped into the services. Got the can of shaving foam, used it, came out of a large hole on the inside of the tyre quicker than it went in. Had to call the RAC, waited over two hours for a flatbed, got home about 3am. First thing I did when I got up was source a spare.

mousse = a soft, light or aerated preparation for the skin or hair.

!. Roads? who knows,all slow punctures, I drive on the same roads as you I expect. Im not an off roader, one thorn in side wall,one bit of glass,one large flint in tread. Sidewall punctures and punctures of certain sizes in central thread non repairable. Im one of those boring people who checks their pressures, oil water etc every week, light right foot(KV6 auto)! Still cost £150 per tyre one of which had only done 600miles. Just bad luck but still annoying. Chris.S

Quite, Steve. In my eyes a puncture is different to tyre damage hence my post asking if some of the "punctures" were tyre damage.

I've had two episodes with my 260, one was a n/s/r blow out (actually damaged the rear wing) due to a tyre defect (tennis ball size swelling in the sidewall). Managed to limp the 1.5 miles home. The other happened on a narrow single carriageway in the pitch black. It might have been a simple puncture that the mouse/foam could have plugged but no-way was I going to stop and investigate and/or repair. Ten miles later the tyre was in it's constituent parts (like rubberised glass fibre). Matters not as the use of the foam means the tyre is scrapped anyways.
