Jammed door lock
I have a 2001 diesel Tourer. The door lock will not operate with the key. The key slides in but will not turn in either direction. The locking mechanism works well with the fob. I unlock the car manually about every 14 days. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like the micro switch is knackered! On the 75 the door lock simply rotates a gearbox which is connected to the lock. Inside the lock is a microswitch which operates the soleniod to unlock the door. If the swich does not work then the door will not unlock <simples>.! I suggest you need to look at the door lock mechanism, usually easier and cheaper to replace the whole lock!

The barrel on my lock disintegrated so the key wouldn't turn.
I've described how I repaired it in this thread... http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=69304 Al |

jammed dook lock
I managed to get the lock sorted. It was "gunk" inside the lock. It was cured by my garage by poking some stiff wire into the keyhole and injecting penetrating oil from an aerosol. This flushed it out and hey presto..... The upshot was that the key was not fully in. No charge!
I can thoroughly recommend The Rover Centre in St. Albans. It is a family run business and they all run 75's. |
