`will self dimming mirror fit standart bracket?
I grabbed myself a self dimming mirror from the scrap yard today but am not sure if I have wasted a tenner.
Will the mirror, fit onto the windscreen bracket of the standard rear view mirror?. The harness comes out of the back of the mirror through the ball joint and through the bracket running up the middle of it into the head lining. It also had I think rain sensing wipers but its not possible to remove the sensor without braking it. Atlantic Green electric memory seats I think macafee2 |

The optical part comes away easily and simply buy a new sticky pad off ebay.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-MERCED...oAAOSwqbZXEmjG The interior arms for the mirrors are different as the auto dimming one has a plastic cover to hide the loom

The mirror is just a twist fit, anti clockwise 45 deg, don't forget the loom for it or you will have wasted a tenner

I mean I wont be using the rain sensor part, sorry.
I'd like to see the rain sensor in action on a drive. Not seen it and so I'm not sure I can be bothered to spend the time making a loom. I guess the wise thing is to make it so it's there if I change my mind. thank you for all the advice given it has been really helpful I appreciate it macafee2 |
