Had a similar problem, replaced with an used one that did not leak.... albeit on a diesel, but no problem yet

I have no idea whether there are any non OEM replacements......

I had the same problem on my v6.

I bought a used one online but that one was not good either. (grinding noise when steering)

So i bought another used one (this one had warranty from the garage)
This one is good. My steering is smooth and without any noise again.

This issue seems to be more and more common on the KV6 PAS pump as the seals are getting older, get hard and starts to leak. The fix might be a simple 15min job of replacing the O-ring on the PAS pump inlet flange:

Don't throw it away Steve! As Beinet1 says, it most likely just needs a new seal. Send it to Jay Gee Hydraulic Services. I can recommend them highly from personal experience.

i have used these http://steeringseals.com to get a repair kit from as mine was leaking from the o ring and worse from the gasket. there site was down for maintenance when i just checked but you are properly better of ringing them (no. on site) as i seem to remember they do not list the zt/75. the cost was about 18.00 when i purchased them and it has been leak free since doing the job. a very satisfying feeling when repairing an item instead of just replacing.

Thanks all .
It booked in the garage tomorrow to be sorted .
problem I have this week I'm on a 102 hour working week .
so no time to do it myself. And as we need both cars due to me and the wife's working times
don't match up only have a small window of when it can be done .
The last one I had done was on a 1.8 so may not only be common on the v6.

Thanks for the info all . Fingers crossed it's just a seal broke .
