Ellow you lot. I been down in Darkest Dorset for a weeks holiday innit.
And as Ian (3Disco) said, I finally got round to meeting him at last! Talking of which, what a beautifull place he has. It's in a valley, undulating terrain, all well tended, several ponds, several streams and a small river running through, so it's no surprise that his house was a Water Mill many years ago. It really is lovely there.. Thank you for the concern Ronnie. .. I must admit, the heat down there was a bit fierce! Car gauge read 82f at one point! and was over 80f several times. I even took my thick jumper off, (with the aid of a local anaesthetic of course!). The lil dog escaped again, he managed to cross the road and get onto a golf course! But luckily, when I pulled up on the road near him and opened the car door he ran across the grass and got in the car?!!? So that's another ASBO for escapin innit... lol I went down to Portland, found the Pub the last meet was at, took a pic to prove it, but no one was there?? Only a week late and no one had waited??? ... I sort of did a mini tour of the West Dorset coast. Weymouth, Portland, Hive, West Bay, Seatown, Charmouth, and Lyme Regis.. Brilliant!!! The bad news..... Jean went down to Paignton on the Sunday, and my car got damaged in a car park....... No one got hurt, No other vehicle involved, just a silly manoeuvring car park bump innit.. I need a new drivers side front wing, complete with chrome strip, pref in Longbridge Weggie Blue... I think the front bumper is repairable, badly scraped, but no cracks or anything. The ole 75 performed very well, covered about 900 miles for the week. Didn't do a fuel check, well, on holiday so I wasn't bovvered innit.. lol... I would like to thank Ian (3Disco) and his charming wife Jean, for their hospitality, we had a very very pleasant afternoon with them.. Coffee and Devon cream teas!!! as well!! ... Thank you Foxy. I don't think holidaying in May was a very good idea really. The beaches, car parks, and café's were extremely busy! So looks like an April hol would be better for Northern visitors in future innit.. ...
Am orf to my local garage today to let them examine my dent... and get some kind of estimate re repairing it.. Jean got the ZX back today, she left it at the garage while we were away. They did a full service, including a belt and rear wheel bearing for Just over £200 .. So that should be OK for a while now.. ... |

Bad luck about the car James and about the heat, those crowds and everywhere busy, although you did have a lovely cream tea in a beautiful setting with Ian and his good lady. Don't forget to post up your holiday snaps I would like to see a summer scene. It is winter here.
Any news on the car? |
