Default Bit of a motorbike update

Ok as some of you are aware I bought myself a motorbike, even though I had not completed my bike test as of yet.

Well I went in for my bike test and the 2nd day of training I fell off and did some damage to my chest( 2mph fall off in test yard)

Well I then failed my mod 1 so decided to buy myself a 125 to learn and also once passed my test use to learn the ways of bike riding in a safer enviroment rather than jumping straight onto my zzr600.

Well tonight my dad and I went and picked up a Honda Varadero 125.
Its a big bike physically bigger in size than my zzr600 is.

its now at home and I thought Id just post a few pictures.

Here it is.

ZZR in backround

Thanks Thomas

I think a wise decision made to start on a more sedate bike.
Hope all goes well and you heal quickly but don't be to tempted to rush the performance of the 600.

Nice bike Thomas , they certainly look very different from the 125cc bikes from my youth.

They certainly do look different, I started with a BSA Bantam 175, then a James 150 scooter. Passing the test saw me buying a BSA A65 Lightning sports 650. Yes I do wish I still had it. Gently does it when you move up Thomas

I'd say that's a very wise decision. Thankfully I passed my test before this new system came in with the different modules and swerve test etc. But as I was only 17 when I passed, I had a restricted license for 2 years, could only ride bikes up to 32bhp or something like that. Whilst at the time I wasn't overly happy about that, now looking back I can appreciate it made me a much better rider. Opening the throttle too quick on my little GSX250 was a lot more forgiving than it'd be on my Buell. Plus the 250 was a lot lighter to pick up if I should get things wrong lol

Had some interesting moments on all the bikes, due my youthful overenthusiastic use of the throttle, back end of a Dragstar 650 swinging side to side up the road as I pulled away quickly in the wet. Sideways round a roundabout on a sportster, and a few impromptu wheelies from the lights when I 1st got the Buell. Thankfully no painful incidents though, and I put that down to building up from a 50cc to 1200cc over about 3 years. I dread to think what would've happened had I jumped straight on the Buell at 17...

Thanks I actually think its a good thing that younger riders are limited. Not all younguns are racers but from personal experience alot seem to think they are

I restricted myself through choice, I could have taken my A class license immediately after only 3 days training, but decided that riding a 125 for a year before taking my test and buying a big bike was more sensible.

My First bike was a 125 Varadero, it's a brilliant bike and I went all over the place on it, north wales, down south, commuting every day, etc ... I loved it.

After a year I took my test and bought my second bike... Kawasaki ZZR600 another brilliant machine that you'll find yourself doing this on in no time:

Have fun and take it steady
