The 3 British girls missing from their homes have crossed into SYRIA.

My guess is they will never return for one reason or another.

I don't think the Turkish authorities are doing much to stop this.

The British government is saying Turkey was advised about the girls within 24 hours, the Turks are saying three days. Probably the UK advised them within 24 hours and it took another 48 hours to reach somebody in the Turkish government who gave a toss!

What I don't understand is how they got the money to fly to Turkey and travel on to Syria? When I was 16 I was doing well to have my bus fare in my pocket!

I think the families might have the answer to that one .

Young people these days have access to funds we NEVER had.

They used subterfuge to leave home and no doubt they gained funds the same way .

It's all very sad .

I don't think the reality they will find matches the image they thought would happen.

Plain and simple old fashioned brainwashing.

They target those that are most vulnerable.

Young men to fight and young girls/women to (marry) a fighter .

From my readings the reality is very different

You do have to wonder what they found appealing about beheading, burning people alive, throwing homosexuals from buildings and the like. They have no place here at all, they don't belong, they're tainted by a medieval idealogy dressed up as religion, and I for one do not want them in my world. I don't care if they've been 'led astray', I don't care if they're not following 'the real Islam', I don't care how young they are or that they're each 'someone's daughter'. Let them rot in the world they have chosen to live in. Good riddance.

I wonder what would have been the point of catching them and preventing them from going, other than finding who was assisting them.
My concern now would be that they don't come back.

I have to say my sentiments entirely....

The one thing that does, I wouldn't say concern, but makes me think, is that if there have been 50 such instances as these, (ie. young girls) what on earth makes these so special...???

Maybe they have connections we are not be told about... But then again, what are we really being told about the whole debacle anyway...???
