Default War!

It seems that we are about to go to war (again).

Personally I don't think this is the answer, but it appears to be a foregone conclusion (again)

Why does this appear to be the only option available?

What I find interesting, is the total lack of any really consultation or debate on the topic and that public interest in these sorts of events appears to be nearly zero.

For example, this is the top story on BBC at the moment:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-29240959

Indeed there are no stories in the most read that are to do with the UK (Yes that includes Scotland!) going to war.

What a crazy world we live in where bombing and going to war is taught to be the path to peace - it makes no sense!

And then I'll hold you in my dreams

I agree. But how would you suggest we deal with an implacable revolutionary that has sworn our death and underlined that by the atrocities we have witnessed on video? Their sole purpose is to draw 'the West' into conflict and make martyrs of themselves and quite a few are from, and remain, in this country.

I'm glad you mention that, not going to war does not suggest you tolerate what are the actions of a very small number of people. I'm sure it wouldn't take me long to dig up some horrific evidence of previous bombings that we have put our name to whether that be on purpose or by accident.

I am challenging the concept that war is the answer to the problems - I am not convinced it is.

You have to ask why they have this opinion of us? There are very few people in the world who subscribe to the idea of random killings. Their numbers are very few. If this problem was so great you would have major events every day.

Afterall, it wouldn't be difficult to hijack a plane/run around a public place with a deadly weapon, yet this happens so infrequently that this concludes me to believe that very few people are of this mind. (rightly or wrongly)

If their sole purposes is to draw ' the west' into a conflict then aren't we giving them what they want?

How long before our bombs go down (or appear to go down) the wrong chimney pot?

Isis dont take prisoners , they execute any soldiers they catch .
They murder innocent civilians in their thousands.
They rape and enslave women.
If your not a Sunni your as good as dead to them.
The graphic and disgusting beheading of innocent people who actually go there to help civilians is stomoch turning.

Should we go to war on them ? yes we should.

I heard the case put today that our allies the Saudi arabians also behead people and yes they do but those people are convicted criminals.

They also use swords that despatch the criminal quickly not the hacking cutting method used by some out of work DJ .

War wont solve the problems of the area but it will stop these barbaric animals.

It is a good point, but I would like to know where all these weapons are coming from in the current conflict areas. Russia/US/UK I as well as neighbouring countries I would suggest.

I don't expect our warplanes to be targeting weapons manufacturing facilities in Syria or Iraq!

We have been chucking weapons at this group and then that group in the hope that one side may eliminate the other, but guess what, now we have well armed bunch of lunatics that are sweeping disaffected groups into their ideals.

I don't suppose many of the so called fighters of this group have or feel they have a choice or a way out. The numbers are estimated to be in excess of 30,000, but I would be prepared to wager that not many of these are there by choice. (If that many exist)

Unfortunately my answer is not possible and not PC (no I wouldn't drop the bomb) so don't really know what the answers are..However is does strike me as fantastic irony that the very people spouting hatred of the West and everything it stands for use social media and other technologies invented in the west to advertise the fact that they hate us..

So first thing to do would be to cut off their access to such things but as said that'll never happen as long as they pay their mobile bills they are safe...
