I'm sure the little delights - AKA Pops, Suzy & Maya - are looking after you and not causing you any issues at all .

Isn't it great when you get advice too late to be of any use! Mentioned to Ging (a nurse) how sore my arm is after getting both jabs in one arm. The response was "what did you do that for? It'll hurt for about a week!" ☹️

There is a trade off from the sore arm and that is you get to live without catching the Covid variant and influenza. Or if you do catch either, the symptoms are less severe without the need for hospitalisation. For sure have a good moan and take Paracetamol. It is normal to have a sore arm for a few days post vaccination, that is how it is. |

Morning all, we had a good meeting with the surgeons last evening.
The lead surgeon wants me to stop taking the liquid Oxycodone and to continue with Paracetamol. No driving for 8 weeks and no lifting or carrying until the internal stitches to the abdominals have completely healed - 8 weeks, the operation scar is looking great. He thinks it will be about 6 weeks before the pain from the operation stops. He said I can sleep on my side and I need to relax more, put on weight, eat chocolates and crisps. He wants me to build myself back up again and rest every afternoon. During the operation, because of the blood loss, my haemoglobin dropped to 9.5 so he is going to write to my GP to recheck my bloods for anaemia etc, He suggested I get on a plane to escape the British winter but that will have to wait as I am not ready for flying. I thanked him and his colleague another surgeon for doing the op and for saving my life. All in all, a good hospital appointment. What is everyone up to? |

Morning Phil, I thought I was up early
Great result from your follow up from the surgeon I'm up at the boat having got here yesterday afternoon. I'm only here till this morning as I'm off to do a car shoot in nearby Beccles a bit later and then home. I came up yesterday to repair the toilet on Lady Emma.....It's not all glamorous this boating life! Anyhow, we now have a fully functioning toilet onboard again. The culprit was a thing called a 'Joker' valve....Now that's a laugh Think I'm going to shut my eyes for a little bit before getting up 'proper' so catch you all a bit later this morning.

Morning everyone from storm hit land of the pasty.
Thunderstorms, heavy rain and gale force winds all night. Seems to have calmed a bit now. Will check for storm damage once it gets light.

Yeah, the problem I have is I for some reason I opted to have both jabs in my left arm, something I've never done before, it seems to have raised the pain level exponentially. I'm used to the post jab discomfort but never as bad as this, the muscles in my upper arm are aching. Still got my usual post flu jab headache as well. Still wet here, the heavy rain all day yesterday has been replaced by misty drizzle. |

When I went for my flu jab the week before my covid jab, It came up on the nurses PC screen which arm I had my flu jab (right) so she said it'll have to be the left arm for this.

Unfortunately the vaccinations are painful jabs, but the pain should dissipate over the next few days. Your next challenge will be to replace the battery in your phone? Let us know how it goes. |
