Default Been Painting - Big Thanks to ajp99

I put up a post asking for an old racer in the wanted section, and Alec (ajp99) responded, I popped over to Chester last week to collect the 80's Raleigh Winner and share a drink with him and 75 chat, members on this site are great folk.

Its looks in working order below, but it was fairly seized up

Spent most of the day fiddling with it

Sanding, spraying, greasing, oiling Loved it

Its not done yet, needs new tyres, gear cables and chain but getting there.

Thanks again Alec

Not that anyone cared last time, but again thanks to Alec

Have now finished this bike

I have 3 events coming up a 30miler a 45miler and a 70miler!! and intend to use this bike.

So just to say, in these times of turmoil! this club is about its members, especially when they help out complete strangers like Alec did with me.

Simon

Simon
At those distances check the UBP is ok, probably best to fit powerfolds
and do the air intake mod as well !!!

Good looking bike ditto the yellow on the back forks.

Good luck on the rides.

Hi Simon , brilliant , well done , almost (but not quite) makes me nostalgic for the numb bits ,I never could tell if I was holding someone else's as my hands were too cold !!! . Best of luck on the rides . Alec
