Small bump,some advice
On the way home tonight a transit van decided to change lanes without checking what was on his inside on a duel carriageway , clipping my offside front.
Luckily it is only the bumper , small scuff and crack but it will probably be written off for that. I haven't notified my insurance yet , and one option is to find a bumper and see if the company will pay for it. Anyone got any advice? Also has anyone got a mk1 zt front bumper in trophy blue Stan

From one Stan to another.
Find out the cost of a replacement s/h bumper, allow two hours to remove and fit (at least) which is £60 at garages near me. Then speak to someone at the company about cash settlement. They probably won't want it going through their insurance and you certainly don't want that. It would mean having to declare the accident every time you applied for car insurance even though not your fault so likely to increase premiums. Chances are if they understand they can pay you £150-£200 to basically go away and that's the end of the matter they'll probably take it. Their insurance excess will be more anyway I would think.

Well that was easy
Popped into the company that owns the van today , armed with footage from camera.
Saw a guy behind the counter and explained I was involved with a small bump yesterday blah blah. Let's have a look he said , so outside we go.... Its a mg he says , lovely cars and in good nick too(washed it today) , looks at the damage and says No problems , if you can drop it off next week and leave it for a couple of days I can plastic weld the crack and respray the entire front bumper. After I got up off the floor he took me round the back to the workshop where he revealed a triumph tr6 in immaculate condition and a stag which is in a half finished condition. Turns out the boss loves his triumphs and has his own workshop and judging by the finish on the tr6 is pretty handy with a spanner. Off to buy me lotto ticket Stan
