Default Crunching and jumping out of gear :(

Hi all,
I had the clutch changed in my 75 tourer in November, it was a Borg and Beck 3 part, I was told that and supposedly that you do not need to change the other part the first time around and I am just going by what mechanics seem to say.

Anyway, every since it has been done occasionally it did not like going from 5th into 4th gear, and grated if you understand that, now it has become much worse, it grates from 3rd to 4th sometimes and like I said, 5th to 4th, it is almost like it is jumping out or not quite going in enough and I am thinking that it seems to be worse when it has heated up, this may just be me but it has started driving me potty.

I was wondering if anyone here could possibly enlighten me as to what the issue may be, I have spent so much on this car and I am honestly at wits end, every week there seems to be something needing doing on it.

This has got me contemplating saying goodbye and getting, I don't know, maybe an early range rover or something.. the though has crossed my mind only this 75 is actually the latest car I have ever owned as can't be doing with the modern ones with all their fancy gizmos.

I'm going to guess at whoever fitted the new clutch have damaged the gear change cables or fluffed the fitting of the cables in the bracket on the gearbox.

Take out the battery box to get a mk1 eyeball on the cables at the gearbox end, and have someone operate the gearstick while you look at what is going on.

Best of luck

Brian
