Default Daft and meaningless non car posts .

Having attended the National meet yesterday and met some likeminded members (old friends mostly) it occured to me how important having a laugh and a bit of fun on here is .

Daft meaningless non car posts might not be everyones cuppa but it's meat and drink to a lot of folk who like to be sociable AND try to assist members with car faults etc .

To me there is no difference in standing in a stoney carpark laughing and joking with fellow members and doing it on here .
Not everyone likes a fun aspect on car forums but trust me without laughter and good natured ribbing it would be a much poorer place .

Actros was there yesterday and even though he has been through the mill of late he was cracking jokes and carrying out his usual duties and for me he proves that it's laughter fun and the odd gentle ribbing that makes us what we are .

Big up to you brian.

And to those who see this post/thread as just another daft meaningless non car post well have a wee rethink .

AGREED , thought for a minute this was going to be one , lol.Like any walk of life mickey taking (good natured of course ) is a MAINSTAY of work canteens, footy matches etc etc.there should be room for in any group session , club workplace. What tickles me about reading the items is some of the sarcastic witty comments you read within the answers on here.ILOVE EM even when on the receiving end, ala,my 2 ton (2 tone ( steering wheel ..people like myself who is virtually useless would have probably tuned out long ago as just reading tech.data about cars is like learning chinese.but between the jibes and spelling corrections I have actually learned something about these cars and am attempting jobs I never would have done....keep the "laughter lines" coming in ...

I think alot of the car forums will turn into social forums. Eventually all the technical info will be out in the open, so there will be nothing new to learn.
Anyway, it's about time you ditched that diesel and bought a v8

Default Ivr

Appropos nothing (dunno wot it means but it sounded good in the song...), I am getting fed up with clueless public calling into my contact centre, so I have proposed the following to be recorded onto the voice response, so that this is what they will hear:

“Thank you for calling XXXX Council. In order to save our Call Centre Operatives’ time and sanity, please have all documentation and reference numbers with you before proceeding.
Additionally, please have some idea of the reason for your call. “It’s about my homeless application” is not enough.

Press 1 if you’re in a right old mood. You will then be placed at the back of the queue, until you have cooled down.
Press 2 if you are holding a screaming infant. This will reduce the volume of your call, and alert Social Services.
Press 3 if you have never had a return call as promised. This will reroute your call to the mobile phone of the Housing Officer who has been ignoring you.
Press 4 if it is your birthday. This will change the waiting music to the appropriate greeting.
Press 5 if you are on full housing benefit but you still feel unable to cough up the measley £6.36 water rates you are asked to contribute. This will allow us to accelerate our eviction process."

Aah feel better now. I don't think my boss was impressed with my suggestion.....
