Rover 18T will not start
My mechanic is telling me that the immobiliser controller is not working. Has anybody else had a simalar problem

Not one I have heard of. Have you checked the fuel filter has not come apart?

There's a good chance it's the Fuel Filter Syndrome (FFS) as outlined in GG's link. However, rather than using a screw on the filter cap, the proper solution is to fit the Fabled Orange Clip (FOC) which is designed for the purpose.
