Default Dash brake light on

Whilst driving my brake warning light has decided to stay on.

Local garage checked all pads and discs and said plenty of usage left (although it is 43000 miles since fronts last changed).

They thought it could be a loose wire. Could this be the case (or a duff sensor)?
Funny thing is the light did not show during their inspection, only started again when driving home.

Question. Am I safe to still keep driving? and

Is this an easy fix?

Check the pad sensor wire hasn't worn through If all your pads are ok, I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi Ray.
Yes you are k to still drive the car, garage as already said there is still a few miles in the pads, the pad wear sensor wire as most likely chaffed or is intermittent due to a break in the wire, a lot of members join the two wires and do a visual test of the pads which is much better than waiting until the pads have worn right down.

Check that the brake fluid level isn't low. Some Rovers have a low fluid level sensor which uses the same warning light.

The low fluid sensor is connected to the handbrake/brake fault warning light, not the low brake pad warning light.
