Default Knock from the front.

Advice please, My 75 tourer has started to have a knock from the front when going over bumpy roads but it is ok and smooth on a normal road and no steering wheel vibration. I cannot hear knocking from the wheels and the steering seams to be ok. Any ideas please..

Yup ... Definately sounds like drop links... Fairly straightforward job to do.

But don't get the £6.50 ones form ebay or let the garage buy cheap ones, I've had to change mine 3 times in 2 years.

I'm about to do mine myself and going to get the £15 ones from Mat at DMGRS

I was told drop links and, sure enough, they failed an MOT and were replaced. But the sound continued.

Today someone knowledgeable replaced some bolts - think he said rear ball joint bolts? No rattle for the first time in a LOOOONG time.

Whichever ones it was, it was just the bolts, no bushes. Charged me next to nothing
