I have been given the name and number of a c c who is happy for me to get some experience working with him, not too far away either. Also going to enrol on another carpet and upholstery cleaning course, with the opportunity to "have a go" with the machines.

Have you considered approaching local house/flat rental agents?

They might know of local landlords who might only be too happy to let you practice at little or no cost to them.

I don't have a machine yet Ian, and no,that is something I hadn't considered, but would still want to reasonably confident before even doing that. Plus if I did that, I could be taking away another cleaner’s income, and that is not good practice. In my trade, you don’t poach another’s work. So presumably the same “rule” applies to carpet cleaning.

Hi rich. We have had a bit of work done in our house lately. Plastering and the like. We knew we were going to have some work done a couple of years ago so only got cheap carpets in as we didn't want expensive carpets covered in dust and muck from work been done. We could do with them been cleaned soon just to clean them up a bit. As a hoover only does so much. Darlington is only 30 miles away. If you get a machine you can come down and have a practice on ours. 2 rooms. Hall and stairs with a landing half way up. Let me know if you want to have a go. Not wanting it for free. Let me know a rough cost for your service. As I said before the carpet is cheap so not the end of the world if its not 100 per cent but would clean carpet up for another year or so as we still have some other work to do in house. We get a clean carpet and you get to practice in a house with no worries about any comebacks if it doesn't clean up great. No rush even if it's 6 months down the line before you get sorted just let me know by pm thanks
