Worn out keys
I'm sure this has already been covered, but just wanted recent opinions.
The buttons on both my keys have worn out. One key is missing the Unlock button altogether (fell onto road and couldn't be found). Buttons cracked and failing on other key too. Need replacement bodies and some new buttons. What's best thing to do? |

When I bought my R75 back in February, the seller very kindly gave me the key fob with both rubber buttons missing and could see circuit board, would only work manually. I just went to branch of Timpsons bought new key fob and he transferred circuit board to new fob, cleaned circuit board, I asked for new battery, cost me £30 all in ...job done.

Last Valeo case I bought was about £7, and it took about 15 mins to change the blade and circuit board over.

Forget the circuit board - without the immobiliser chip I can't see you starting the engine, so not much use unless you have looked the original key in the car of course.

You've got to have the transponder to start the car

All the PCB does is the central locking, as Ronnie says its the transponder that disables the immobiliser allowing the car to be started. To get a key that does it all you either pay £200+ to Xpart or see one of the traders that does keys . . . . for a lot less than £200+!
