I just wanted to start this new thread to firstly gather some feedback from the first batch. For those who ordered in the first batch and have had their new windscreens fitted, I'd be interested to hear what you think of them:

- Are you happy with them,
- was the fitting process ok?
- was you able to transfer the rain sensor for the wipers and the rear view mirror onto the new screen ok?
- How did you go about wiring the heating elements, did everyone wire them to the rear demist button on the AC panel with the use of a relay?
- and is there any adjustments or changes that could be made to improve them which i could suggest to the manufacturer?

I'll be getting in touch with the manufacturer tomorrow to get things started, and will also be putting posts out on facebook to try and gather more interest, as the more we order the cheaper it would be per windscreen.

Also, I think what I'll do is supply the windscreens with the relays and wiring needed which I think will make things a bit easier for those who are unsure of what relays to purchase, and down here in the south east I'd be happy to wire up the heater elements for you.

If you would be interested in a heated windscreen please respond to this thread to let me know and I'll start making a list to get an idea of numbers. Looking at the thread from the first batch, I believe the price including shipping was around £250.

Lastly, for those who had heated windscreens fitted, is anyone local to me in Essex for me to take a look and take some pictures of how they look fitted?

Cheers,
Rick

Hello Rick,

Have you managed to get any response from the manufacturers yet.

Steve.

Hi Steve,

Yes I have they are happy to go ahead with another run. Just waiting on confirmation on price including the relay this time as I will be sending out the relay and wiring required for the screens which will be included in the price, so no one has to go purchasing relays and wiring themselves

Will be announcing prices and dates later this week

Can I suggest that you got some form of a timer to the front screen.
Also if you can put on a switch for the screen not wire it up to the rear screen.
When front and back screen are on it pulls a load of current.

Thanks

as Steve says the screens dont take long to defrost, plus connecting it to the rear screen means it'll be switching on all the time in colder weather (i hate that function!)

We found in the TF it was better to add a relay and wire each half of the screen seperatly due to the heavy current draw

as a guide heres an aftermarket scren fitted to a TF in action

must say I have turned my auto rear demist off due to my front and rear screen been on the same switch.
with the auto demist I found that I forgot to turn it off so front screen was on for a long time and burnt the main cable to it .
that's why I think a timer or a single switch to the front screen is a must.
plus the power drain is loads. with the engine running and then I put the front screen on the engine note drops if my lights are on as well the lights drop down loads .

thanks

it was found the ones on the TF were drawing 34amps in total, hence wiring the halfs seperatly using 30a relays
