I fitted one to my diesel just a few weeks ago. Follow the instructions exactly and it all fits and works well. It shows just how cool the diesels run, The hottest I have seen is 86.

I bought it for my daughters car and mounted it, but it never got installed as her hubby bought her a I35 diesel with all wheel drive and diff lock so she could get out of the village in the winter safely. I am reasonably sure I know where it is if you are interested in having a-cup holder mounted display. The finish is burr walnut from a 2003 Diesel Conni. Have adapted the retaining clip as recommended so all that needs done is give it a + and - supply and a feed from the canbus cable that runs behind the radio and Climate panels and away you go.
