To break a taper joint with two hammers you need to hit each side of the joint with simultaneous like weighted blows. Like you I have many a time cursed endlessly when they wouldn't break, ending up battering with too heavy blows!!
In my experience joints are frequently in awkward positions which means your view is usually obscured and you can't get an even swing with the hammers.

Good news about the tall man, thanks for the 'heads up'.

That is good news love watching that guy, don't watch the new series of wheeler dealers, 1st May what a nice birthday present no one would struggle with the amount of tools he's got.

I think it will be better without Mike for me, nothing against him, just preferred Edd's part of the show! Mike just reminds me too much of some dodgy salesman I have dealt with in the past lol!

Couldn't agree more!

With regards, to Ant Anstead, I really don't think this partnership works but I loved watching For The Love Of Cars with Phil Glenister.

Brake grease on the edges of the brake pads?

My understanding was that brake grease was for under the piston seals, where it comes into contact with the hydraulic rubber components?

Ordinary high melting point grease is fine for lubricating the sliding components.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

But in reality with no cameras on him,he would probably sling it up the wall😄

I wasn't disputing the need to lubricate the pad edges and where the pad contacts the anti-rattle clip, but rather that he seemed to be pointing out that the brake grease needs to be used for that.

I wasn't that impressed with the pilot video, nor the reasoning for Ed to step in to help fix the car. Dropping an engine in, roof lining and swapping drums for pads.
