They were rusty, but I cleaned them up, gave them a really good poke with a screwdriver and they seem solid enough. I have a brand new set of upper, lower and subframe in storage should the dreaded tinworm get them in the end. I've waxoyled as far as I can today, and also started to dry the interior by lifting the carpet and putting towels under. I hope the water is from before my drains were done and unblocked. Fingers crossed. IN the next couple of days I'll spin it around and do the front section, but that should be way easier, and job is a good one. Looks really good already!

When I put my springsavers on I found it better to start with the outside ie nearest you domed bolt, you can see better and control better I put also put a cover over the wheel and suspension, I suffer from "lost bolt/nut" syndrome- I'm sure I spend twice as long looking for dropped bolts than ever the task takes. Good luck. Chris S.

Excellent stuff Dawn, most if not all of these cars left the factory with scant little protection on the underside,

My shot blasted subframe has been carefully treated with phosphoric acid, and will be receiving a coat of Bonda primer if the weather is nice tomorrow.

Hopefully the hard, if not to say slightly unorthodox work Cazemi and I have been carrying out in the background, will see inclement weather a thing of the past, as our "man cave" takes shape

Here is the mezzanine being lifted into place, all 42 square metres of it

Once the mezzanine is completed over the next few days, the next job is the spray booth, with materials being delivered on Saturday, and then the two post lift

Mmm, mancave

Brian

That looks like a decent Man Cave, I need a bigger cave for the fleet

I wish I could have a girl cave! I have to do it all outside. I only have a tiny garage, and my Cavalier is in there. Even if it wasn't, no room to swing a cat around in there with a car in!

I've spun the car around now. I had to do the ramps on my own this time as my neighbour managed to cut his leg the first attempt, but I have no idea what on, as I can't find a sharp edge on the ramps!

Anyway, painted the front subframe etc this evening, and if its dry tomorrow night the rest of the waxoyl can go on. Might give it a second coat before winter.

Driver's side is so deep in water its not funny. I'm mopping it out but not sure if the leak is stopped yet. I don't think anything came in with the rain last night passenger side, so we shall see...
