Yes once I find solutions to this I will post it very odd problem, further investigation has shown no blown fuse I've checked fuse and relays in engine bay and passenger footwell so I now suspect the culprit to be the stalk how hard/easy/annoying is this to replace and has anyone got one???

Replaced the stalk on mine this afternoon (very simple job) and the rear wiper now works. The rear washer, however, still does not, although the front windscreen washers work as they always did. I now need to establish whether the replacement switch is itself faulty and is failing to activate the pump, or whether the rear pipework is obstructed.
