Default Rover Cooling Fan Motor PGJ OEM ~ ~ Mail order or fitting service



There are 2 types of Radiator Cooling/AC Fan on the Rover 75 ZT.
The early 3 speed type is notorious for early failure.
Generally the LOW speed fails at 50K-60k miles, MEDIUM ans HIGH speed fail between 60K and 70k miles.

Later 2 speed motors are very reliable, only being let down by the notorious silver resistor which provides HALF speed.
I am the originator of the Gold 100 Watt resistor kit and supply these also (see other posts)

Motor life depends on driving conditions and use of Aircon.
If ATC heater panel left on AUTO, the fan runs for 90% of journeys and is very wasteful on energy and MPG!
Use ECON unless you need the Aircon running.

As there was a large overlap on the production line we cannot go by the Reg/Year of your Car to determine which type fan you have.
Look through the front grille at the 2 O'clock position behind the fan blades and see if resistor present or not.

Cooling fan motor fitting service (Same day if you get here by noon!)

Price includes the following routine checks (while all the front is off!):

1. Lighting wiring looms repaired & re- routed (where they rub through)
2. Turbo intercooler O rings upgraded to Viton spec (diesel)
3. Intercooler lower casing checked for damage from undertray
4. Aircon high pressure & Power steering pipes protected from rubbing
5. Flush out washer bottle of bacteria (restores jet pressure)
6. Bonnet cable divider block modification (if necessary)
7. Intake mod (on diesels if requested)
8. Add 2nd horn (if requested plus cost of horn & extra wire harness)
9. Check all front bulbs
10.Check outside temp sensor for security
11. Check power steering cooler not fowling
12. Alternator cabling & belt
13 Anything else?

Prices will be as quoted PLUS 45p per mile from my LL29 post code (for the round trip distance)
So for example if you live 100 miles away, the extra mileage cost will be 200 X 0.45 = £90.
This pricing structure is based on Fuel costs, wear & tear & "lost time" out of the workshop.

PGJ000110 for the Diesel CDT CDTi M47R engine.

Cooling fans will need to be checked for all speeds functioning especially on Petrol models.
You may be lucky & only need a 100 Watt resistor for the later type.
