Yes, that's right.
Usually if warm starting is a problem, it is down to the cam sensor. It is located just in front of the oil filler cap. A simple check is to remove it when the engine is warm and put it in the freezer for a few minutes to cool it down quickly. Then re-fit and see if it now starts better? There's a lot of info about the problem throughout this forum if you do a search for it. Chris

I would say that you need at least 1 new injector.... You would need to carry out a leakback test to confirm... Mine did exactly the same and it was the injectors...
Only other thing to check is the cam sensor...

I've been fighting this issue for months.
Tried the cam sensor, didn't help for me. I really don't know what to do. I haven't got a blank cheque to give to a garage to try and find out what's wrong. I've also heard that the crank sensor could be causing it. Also I read remove the map of maf sensor see if that makes any difference. The car is now becoming hard to start even when cold. I still love the car but this is driving [no pun intended] me up the wall. I'm reasonably mechanically minded so any advice on the above, like where they are and what to try would be really appreciated. John |

Won't start at all now, so what's the order of things to check.
Pull to fuel line off and make sure it's being 'fed' seems a good place to start. |

Asked my mechanically minded mate again about this. He told me, now this may sound crazy but hes a pretty good mechanic.
First he said check the fuel pump relay, its under the bonnet in the fuse box I believe. Have to look on here to find out exactly where. He said if its an intermittant fault it starts when hot and as you mentioned gets worse over time and finally gives out giving all the syptoms of a sensor. Even the diagnostics give conflicting readings Then its up to you which order to try things. But start with the fuel flow. then go into the sensors, finally injectors and pumps. I suppose hes giving me expense order. Good luck |

Get a can of easy start, spray it in to the air intake while cracking the end - two people makes this bit easier. If it starts then it is a good indication that you have a leak back problem with one or more of your injectors. You can do a leak back test to confirm this. You can get the injectors recomend for about 85.00 each.

Thanks for the advice guys.
The significant bit may the the 'easy start' bit that's what I do to get it started when it's playing up. I'll get the injectors tested. Thanks |
