BOY'S TOY lucky boy..
Well I never thought I'd do it.
But I am now driving a petrol turbo. Its a Citroen DS3 1.6 Dsport, direct injection BMW engine, 154bhp, max torque of 177lbs ft at (wait for it) 1400rpm! That's even lower than the diesels and the torque curve is ruler flat to 5500rpm. Of course there is a reason for this - they've gagged the engine and restricted the fuelling to stop the torque building with revs. Or at least they had - not now its been remapped and the boost turned up its amazing. Fortunately the chassis is equally impressive or it would be a bit of a handful. I've done a write up here: http://energytuning.co.uk/Ds3/ds3.htm Its actually quite spacious, does 38-42mpg is comfortable, quiet and refined. Must be the fastest thing on 4 wheels for the money and the most fun fully clothed! ron

Nice to see you Ron, the new car sounds like great fun. I will have to go and google as I can't picture a Citroen DS 3.

Citroen have done a great job on the chassis, brakes, and engine, build quality is good although not in the VW/Audi league but I bought it for the performance & handling and am not disappointed. 0-60 is 7.3 secs standard but with an extra 30 bhp will be under 7 now, however the 2nd and 3rd gear acceleration for overtaking is astounding. We'll see how the reliabilty fares. Ron

Does this give the sensation of turbo lag or similar when changing up the gears & feel as though there is feel like there is a flat/dead spot as my New Freelander 2 does that & it's b****y annoying

You need one of my Synergy 1cr boxes for your 2.2 Freelander, we sell a lot to cure exactly what you are experiencing. Most owners are happy at motorway speeds but not at lower speeds. Ron
